Senior Mechatronics Engineer
Job Description
Having deployed several robots already used in aerospace manufacturing, we are looking for a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to play a key role in designing and deploying robotics used in the direct manufacture of large-scale aerospace structures.
You will use your expertise in Systems Engineering to design and develop electrical control systems, set up and commission new products, and research, design, and install automated technologies.
We are located 25 miles north of Seattle and will assist a great engineer with relocation. Three Awesome Reasons to Work Here:
- Develop cutting-edge robotics and industrial production technologies transforming the aerospace industry.
- Enjoy world-class benefits, including low-cost insurance, ESOP, and a fully stocked kitchen.
- Experience vast opportunities for advancement in a company that values work-life balance.
- Research, select, and apply sensors, communication technologies, or control devices for motion control, position sensing, pressure sensing, or electronic communication.
- Create, review, and maintain electrical design documentation such as schematic diagrams and layout documents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electromechanical issues using common tools such as DMMs and oscilloscopes.
- Develop architecture and software for embedded systems, HMIs, and peripherals.
- Understand, develop, and debug low-level software routines as well as system-wide software architectures.
- Perform application programming on specialized platforms for automation and robotics applications.
- Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- Create basic drawings and have the capacity to prototype for proof-of-concept validation.
- Work directly with in-house machinists to ensure engineering designs are scheduled for completion and properly fabricated.
- Perform system setup and commissioning of company products for deployment at customer sites or at the company's workshop.
- Conduct on-site installations, system setups, troubleshooting, and limited repairs both onsite and in the office.
- Craft project plans and manage outside projects or teams.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering.
- 6+ years of work experience.
- Engineering knowledge spanning Electrical, Software, Mechanical, and Systems Engineering.
- Experience in most of the following areas:
- Sensor selection and electromechanical design.
- DC brushless servos and other motors.
- Embedded system development (ARM, C/C++, .NET, C#, JavaScript, and/or JSON).
- Tools such as SolidWorks, Catia, and Altium.
- PLCs, ideally Siemens products.
- Functional analysis, block diagrams, and network diagrams.
- Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) emissions and immunity.
